.cmp importer

Does anyone get milkshape models that are just thousands of polys sticking out at random when they import certian parts of .cmp files and if they do what's the point of it???

It's eyes were completly devoid of life,
Empty Orbs that took in the world with an unfeeling gaze,
A thin trail of blood ran from a fresh wound,
But it would not or could not tend to it,

I can't even get the friggin importer to work It crashes when I put the 2 files in the MS folder, and then blames it on my graphics card !? It tells me there was an error, asks if I want to send an Error Report, then gives me a link to ATI website, saying "Oh, it's your graphics card that's screwy," EVEN THOUGH I just DLed the very latest drivers for it.

If anyone with experience and more knowledge about this thing has any idea about this, I would be extremely grateful if you could give me a hand.

Another thing i've discovered is that the importer reverses some polys.

I think the problem of crashing Milkshape is the forst thing to clear up. We can't give feedback from error logs until at least that is fixed.

I'd rather be pushing c than pulling g.

keep in mind it was made for 1.6.6 and does not work for vs1.7.0, so if your trying to import using that 1.7.0 version it will not work.

Heya, Black Lightning, the .cmp importer does work for 1.70, But it has the same problems as what I have found with previous versions of milkshape (1.66 I think), It keeps flipping some things around, Cargo doors are orientated wrong (Although I think thats animation related).

Surprised MS3D and the .cmp importer would even work on my 166mhz laptop.

question: nobody have rewrite the CMP importer for all thoses bugs and crashes .. and to support new limitation size of Milk 1.7.1 ????
