Can anyone tell me which program I must use to take a hashcode back to its original-name? I have the problem, that I have an unknown hashcode in TNG 2.1 and don´t find the original name like "mine03_..." or so. Or can anyone help me with that hashcode :

Hey, would somebody be able to make a program that would allow you to record a demo in-game? I've used the feature on the game Half-Life in its console commands, and I remember a ways back when Descent for Windows 95 had a demo option. Would someone be able to make something like this? I'm trying to make a film with the engine... you will be credited!
There is a program that can record in game video called Fraps that will allow you to record Freelancer in real time. Check out the Website at http://www.fraps.com/
I am pleased to see that my Freelancer XML Project has been published. Last night, I did the acid test, and converted every single UTF file to XML, then converted the XML files back to UTF. When I tested the updated UTF files in Freelancer, everything worked fine EXCEPT that the actors had no heads or hands. Oops. Looks like I have some work ahead of me in tracking down what went wrong. (Volunteers are welcome *grin.) Actually, it was fun going through the single-player mission watching headless actors. Now you can see what Orillion has up his sleeve...
I'll post an update as soon as I track down and solve the headless actor problem. My next project is to build a Milkshape import/export plug-in which supports the Freelancer XML format.

I am looking to put announcement for players and about acheivement in my mod my clan is designing. And this is one area I would really like to make some additions to.

There is no Mat importer for Milkshape but there are two ways you can get the textures from the MATs.
1. Download the CMP importer plugin for Milkshape here . When you import a CMP, you are given the choice to select a MAT file. Select the MAT you want to import the textures from, then press the Extract Textures button and select the directory you want to save the textures in. You can find the textures in that directory.
1. Download the UTF Editor here . Open the MAT you want to extract textures from. There will be two Nodes. A Texture Library and Material Library. Expand the Texture Library and find the texture you want to extract. Expand that node and you will see another Node named MIPS. Click on that node once. Then click on the Export Button in the bottom right of the program, and select a directory that you want to save it in.

Hey, i just want to know if there is a program that can create new factions that is compatible with the latest version of the Explorer. Im currently trying to create a whole new Freelancer world so i'm starting with the systems. I see there are a few faction editors, but i'm not sure they are what i'm looking for. Do i edit the existing factions by changing their names? Also, i'm looking for a way to edit what faction flys what ships.
