Every time I click to download Beta 1,2,3,4,5 for FLMM 1.2; Internet Explorer gives me an error and kicks me off the internet. I cant dowload the rebalance mod on FLMM 1.1 and need this beta, any help?
OK, I e-mailed microsoft about this and am waiting for a reply. I dont have parental controls, I use rodrunner and there is no specific log on. I tried restoring my internet explorer without thinking and now I have version 5.5 which will not work on rodrunner. And I cant download 6.0. This ftp client is another story, its like looking at heiroglyphs. I cant download and ftp client , and im as sure as hell im not paying 50$$ for one. There has to be a way to fix this, Ill be patient and except any help I can get.....
BTW The error comes from URLMON.DLL, crashes every time I try to download something.

The problem is a DLL? You computer has trouble running DLLs then, which means that you have a virus. I had that before and I got a formatted harddrive and Windows XP (had Win ME before), and now it's ancient history. Norton won't be able to help you with that, it's too late now.

Sounds like your computer has software issues and you aren't knowledgeable enough to fix them.
The following is the advice of an idiot who is definately not responsible for however you might screw up your machine.
Options...
1. The cheap easy free solution is a 'nuke and pave' - or 'system restore' - you will lose ALL your files, but it should eradicate any virus you _might_ have and get you into a state where you can rebuild your stuff. Use the disk that came with your computer, or the disk for your OS and boot with it.
2. if indeed you have a virus you could try downloading an Anti Virus program - AVG from www.grisoft.com is a highly rated FREE program.
As for IE 5.5 and 6.0 - "the Internet" and the connection your ISP gives you doesn't actually require any particular browser. You could use IE 4, Opera, Mozilla - or anything you want. Of course if you need help - your ISP's help line will probably tell you they only support IE 6.0
Many free FTP clients exist - last I checked both LeechFTP and SmartFTP were good FTP clients in various forms of FREE or nearly so...
When in doubt - use Google.
Try calling the customer help line for your ISP (Roadrunner (or whoever)) They're probably your best bet for actual handholding.
Now if a mod could lock this thread - I believe it's off topic.
