INI files

I can decode INIs fine with BINI and can edit them with notepad, but how do the changes take effect. I can't find any way of re-encoding the txt files into ini. Is there an obvious point that i'm missing.

Please help!

hey dude,

first of all dont use notepad - use wordpad instead.

secondly make a backup copy of all the files first if your going to replace them with your modified ones.

thirdly the output file from bini looks something like this "goods.ini.txt "
to get it back to being an .ini just delete the ".txt" from the end of it.
freelancer doesnt need them to be "re-encrypted"

if your going to be making a mod then either save your modified files into a folder called "data" somewhere else on your harddrive and mimic the structure of the freelancer directories where the original file came from under it .

or ( the better way) read the instructions that come with flmm on making a mod script (makes the final mod smaller).

i realise this is a bit more than you asked but i thought it might give you the heads up on what to learn next to produce a final mod
