.icd files missing during the installation.

Hey guys,

Recently bought this game for 5 bucks (what a deal!) but now I'm finding out why. When installing this game on maximum install, the % only fills to 24 percent with a pop-up stating that the lancer.icd file could not be found (re-insert the cd and try again) on mimimum install the percentage goes up to 99% (how aggrivating!) with the same message... lancer.icd file missing. If I ignore the file, every other files start to have ploblems too. Now:

>I've disabled the dma support for the cd-rom.
>Did a clean boot to make sure no programs are running.
>Disk Defrag/Scan disk.
>System file checked the machine.
>Anti-virus (duh)

Runnning ME, with a Geforce 4 mm440 video card with the latest drivers of both the video card and the direct x versions (tried both 8 and 9).

try just doing the regular install. it runs just fine, you don't need the full install. i dont even see why MS included the full install as you still need the cd's with it. anyway, have fun with SL.
EDIT oops sorry, didnt see that you tried the minimum install as well. umm wait for some of the more technologically sophisticated to come along, sorry i couldnt help

return it and get a different copy!

yeah! go on a strike against the shop along with all the other ppl who bought the game for 5 bucks! go go go !! [ we want our game! rite that on the banners and charrrge!

well, go and get a refund or an exchange. u still got the receipt rite?
