I want the Badanov as my base ship. Too bad it gets blown up, that's the single coolest looking capship in the game.

With the Reliant, one can understand it being weak; she's a class 4 carrier, and out of date at that. Plus, she often goes up against class 2 or class 1 carriers, so you're bound to get in deep trouble. Foster was lucky to live as long as he did. But the Yamato is a heavier ship than the Pukov(unless ITAC decieves me), and it is the most advanced ship in the Alliance fleet...I refuse to believe that it takes so little to bring her down.

@KimK, What happened was that I was going after a Kurgen that was on the Port Side of the Yamato, I was on the Starboard Side. I went past a Flak Turret just as it Fired, Killing me with one shot.

While not completely destroyed, it's definitely heavily damaged. And you can afford to be careless with your life. After all, it's only you and Moose in that fighter. Captain Mukai is responsible for hundreds, even thousands of crewmen.

i soo don't like the blue stuff... and if Mukai is responsible 4 hundreds, shouldn't he like have a better armoured ship, and according to ITAC, it can go against any cap ship and win, with her 'top squadron' the Ronin (Rodents??) but he just freaks out after 4 hits in the Kamov mission and he goes '50% sheild' but still, thats alot u know, considering how much physical armour the yamato should have. i just have to say the yamato's crap, and the reliant's brave.

If "better armor" is the solution to survivability, I'd fly the Wolverine all the time. Perhaps there's another factor at play, for example, maneuverability? When I go home, I'll go check ITAC for Yamato's mass displacement. Then compare it Reliant's. We know from mission 8 that Reliant's armor and shields can only stand 3 torps before getting destroyed. I'll keep you updated.

That won't be necessary. It's got a greater displacement than the Pukov (88,000 vs 72,000, IIRC). The only ship that has a larger displacement is the Czar.

wouldn't it be fun if the czar came online ?? it blows up gamma wing, and the relient and the yamato and the bremen jump in... along with the victorious, the endeavor, ans washington, ans mitchell, what am i missing, oh yes, the koenig, what elsee... i think thers the sister ship to the mitchell, but i forgot, well they all jump in and start a torp flurry thing at hte czar... in the meantime, the varyag, ramases, and a whole bunch of others jump in... along with the ronin, vampires, pirates, hurricanes back from the dead, pumas, diamond backs, jackals, and a whole bunch of others going up against the golden warriors, black guards, saracens, petrov, nicolai, angel of death, golden warrior leaders, al rahan, and so on... then it'll rilly be one huge battle... golden warriors, saracens down in 2 mins, black guard in 5... all shield generators of cs down under 10... yamato gets toasted, koenig goes.. mitchell goes... relient volleys 90 torps all around... bremen fires h-bombs at the czar (it means 'king' or emperor in russian) and in the end... all cs ships gone... relient, victorious, endeavor, and others that didn't die... ronin goes, jackal goes... everything else is alls well that ends well... then they immediately jump ahead to the jupiter base and take it out 5 mins flat...lol... jump onto other planets and happy ending... 20 mins flat, the universe is ours..

But seriously, you're not a captain becouse you have a fetisch about losing your ship, you're a captain becouse you know when to pull out of combat while your boat is still in one piece.
