@cbrain- what you have gotten here is the most famous and dastardly of Windoze errors: "The Blue Screen of Death"
TBSD is a fatal error that is usually caused by memory corruption or the like (if you read closely, you may see that it references a hexadecimal address in memory that could not be accessed or has been corrupted. The restart should fix this. This problem is most likely not caused by SL itself, but by some other pre-exisisting condition on your computer (such as your dying hard drive).
TBSD is spoken of by almost all Windows users... we've all gotten it at somepoint. Perhaps Taw can give you more insight.
Personally, I've not had TBSD with Starlancer before, but anything can happen.
