Hello Wanderer,

I am new to modding freelancer, and was asking in another thread about who toi go to with questions about making guns from scratch. I was told right away that you are the expert on gun modding/making around here. I need help on doing just that.

I just need a tutorial, or a link to one, that tells how to make sure that your gun/turret ( base, barrels, and the barrel housings) track up/down and left/right without coming apart and how to make sure they actually fire something.

I am currently working in Milkshape and have made the models for the guns and the ship but am not sure where to go from there.

At any rate any help you could give would be greatly appreciated.

Hi

Would play freelancer alot more if you could pilot transport USV's, Large & Small, along with those freight trains. And the Rheinland gunboats would be perfect.

Could someone just post the edited DATA file with all the correct modifications as a zip file?

Enjoyed Wanderer's tutorial, but I have a question. The gunboat weapon which resembles a mass-driver (during a cut scene it's used by Liberty to destroy a research station when you and Juni become Liberties most wanted), where can I find the stat's on it. What I want to do is increase the re-fire rate of it an increase the amount of damage it does. But I am not sure which .ini file it is located in and what it's called (how to identify the line that refers to this weapon).

Black 7 - you can download the mods i have made for them. Either Open SP where you can choose any Freelancer Ship to start with, Storyline - where you can start with any ship - or just the fly all ships mod, where you can fly any ship (check shipyards for sale points). Check the pathfinderstudios forum below these editing ones. You can find the correct script file and take it straight from there if you like. Can find the download in the stickied thread for mods made by me.

Cool thanks for the help, it worked, but one more thing, I have found out that the min gun of the Cruiser only fires at a range of around 145...How do I increase the weapons range? So it becomes more active during battles. I managed to turn it into a devestating weapon but you have to be right next to the cruiser for it to fire.

Increase the lifetime (in the ammo section which is 2 right now) or increase the velocity of the shot (main gun part = 500m/s right now).

This means that the gun has a range of 1k right now, certainly not 145m. It has a larger range than fighters guns have. Are you sure your not thinking of a mod where this has a reduced range??

Well, I am using the Battleship Encouter Mod along with the Realistic Battleship mod. (came with Mod Manager). I will check and adjust the settings your talking about.

im new at modding and my pc is a vista so i cant use the b-ini so if anyone please wil pack down (in a zip or rar archive) the files to the battleship on first page i would be verry happy!!!

use the SDK you can get at the EOA consortium's site - > and never, ever, ever, use a tutorial this old for information. lolz

Manuverablility is way too low. It should be able to turn in 2 secs...else u cant go anywhere.
