I didn't bother with those two shields I just went in and changed the ones that you can buy . Just go into the equip ini file and change the value capacity for the lev 10 shields , recharge rate and strength and you have a new shield. I reenfored all my freighter shielding , they were too weak for a heavy transport. I also increased their hull points. Have a go at it. : )

ive done alot of looking...the anubis has the most usable hardpoints of all the normally available ships....and im pretty sure the most of any ship...

on a side note...

ship_class =

refers to the class of ship

0 = lighterfighter
1 = heavyfighter
2 = freighter
3 = veryheavyfighter


i think it has something to do with how the ai responds to your ship

How come after I did all these, my equipment store stop selling weapons? Is it normal? I can't see any weapon on my Anubis, and can't unequip or sell equipments not showing on my ship nor in the store. The picture's not showing, only description of the weapons. Can anyone figure out what's wrong? Thank you!

I've been trying to open up the store on Planet Gamma (Robot) but I can't seem to figure out what system/base it is.

Could someone let me know what it is?

Any other tips on opening up this base and making a custom weapon available for sale there would also be much appreciated.

I've looked to a great extent on these forums and in the .ini file, but I've been unable to find out how exactly...

can some one come up with a program like sl edit to make editing ships easier i am totally lost on how to find each ship in the ini and waht to edit

the speed limit may be 55mph but it is impossible to read at 170mph

Anyone know how to change the power rating of a ship? I currently have an Anubis modded to fit class 9 and 10 weapons, but with just the class 9 weapons I have on it the energy is drained in like 5 shots. I need to up this to be on par with the Titan or something. Anyone know?

Tesla: If you wanna change the cruising speed open up constants.ini in you DATA directory. Under [EngineEquipConsts add this as the end:

CRUISING_SPEED = 990

Just don't fly through debris field on cruise, it's really hard to maneuver and running into something sends ya flyin'

I think power capacity is an aspect of either your engine, which is built into the ship [st_equip.ini or something else that has to do with power.... anyway that's where you can change that..

Hi all,

Been lurking around here for a while picking up info.

Good proggy to view ships' hardpoints etc is UTF Edit. Allows you to view and edit hardpoints etc on ships models. Saves having guns poking out of the engine, nav lights and contrail areas, wot!

Sheild and gun power + recharge time is set for each craft in misc_equip.ini.

So far I have modded all fighters and tranports the player can buy to make it harder but fairer. As people have said, the game makes no sense. Liberty would have been steam rolled by anyone if it came to a war!

I figured, Liberty = all rounders, Kusari = Speedy, Rheinland = GUNS, and Bretonian = Armour. The pirates are speedy, the corsairs less so. All ships shields (that I have encoutered so far!) recharge. Also if you bump into things everyone gets some damage. Just had to tweak that down after testing out those explosive clouds. Damned dangerous!

Is the cloak (as used by the nasty Rheinlanders in SP) somewhere in the .ini files?
Would it be usable?
Am I the only one who wants a cloak?

why can I not seem to edit shiparch.ini ? I'm using notepad to look at it. should I be using another program? all I see is characters
