Uhhh...

Dis Link she no work neether, fellas!

'Elp!!

Can someone (who is able to do so) combine these two threads too so our friend can continue his good work on one thread??

Post Tue Aug 21, 2007 10:44 pm

Okay, I will make it into one thread from now on myself, not that I can edit the server, I just mean I will only continue my work in this thread only.

As for the other thread, I will inform on last reply that the information is continued here in this thread and a proper link, I hope! will be put there to link to this thread

StarTrader, I just tested the link to download the .pdf voice tutorial file. It works now and every computer should be able to locate the file when users on the net click on it.

Thanks to FinalDay again for helping me with everything!!

Best of fun in Freelancer and the hard-worked modded Freelancers as well, especially everybody else who have made the game so highly modifiable

How is everybody going with the information?

I mean the 10, 550 excessively worded one, I don't think it's pretty for the eyes, a proper tutorial is still coming

Is there someone at all who can follow it?

"Since lancersreactor.com uploaded the tutorial for download, there have been 110 users downloading it on this day!"

I followed your well written tutorial, but it is only 1 of 50 things I am doing at once, lol.

It may be a few weeks before I can turn my attention directly to these voices.

So, Dwnunder? What are the 49 things of voice you are trying to do? Or what other things with voice you are trying to do to be more specific?

"Still processing more elements to the next voice tutorial..."

Your reply would add more notice to the currently building tutorial

Not 50 things of voice...50 things of building a huge total conversion mod and coordinating a dozen people on a dozen different topics, heh.

OOOOps I was thinking that you meant something else as well, 1 out of 50 features of Freelancer game engine. I can't even get deal with that amount of workload!

Sorry for the misunderstanding

Hello pals.

"Here are the results from the xxxxx jury..." <I am emulating the Eurovision Song Contest points announcement method!!>...

The procedure is good. I even skipped reading some of it and still got the effects I wanted.

BUT!

For only 2 new messages that I can use for all of my new systems and new bases (NPCs now say "New Systems" as origin/destination and "Border Patrol" instead of new base name), I had to find, then extract existing voice clips from all of the existing voices and clip/splice them all so that I could get the same guy/gal saying what I wanted in his/her own voice! And then import them back in with new hashcodes remembering the "-" on the end.

OK I did it all!

But I had to change so many voices. It took me 2 days' work, about 18-20 hours. It's NOT worth it for all my new systems and bases.

OK so I'm slow. But I did it, I'm SO pleased! lol

Me, I am happy with hearing all NPCs saying they are coming from or going to my "New Systems", and traffic control saying "This is Border Patrol" instead of "This is (base name)".

And the trick is - I can use these for all of my new systems and all of my new bases from now on.

'Course if you have more patience than me, I'm sure you can go through all the existing messages for all voices and clip out the words you want and splice the message you want for each character - but me, I'm too busy modding to do that.

Or you could re-record all the new and current messages you want to use in your own voice and those of a few pals! See you next year, then!

You could have searched in the ini files for the existing strings that are stored in audio folder, like the voice_space_male.ini.

You could find St01 by using search and then it will show up and convert it to CRC hexadecimal to locate in the pilot.utf file

Sorry mate if you didn't know this, it is a more complex part of modifiying 'effectively and efficiently' the voice files that will be in my next tutorial.

It will have a lot of information I believe certainly as many many new things are going to have to be explained to achieve understanding.
