New fighter for freelancer...texture missing!

Ok, please help an old TLR member out. So I've modeled my ship for Freelancer in Milkshape. I've made my texture very simple...plain red on a 256x256, 24bit .tga file. I've made the mesh for the weapons, thruster, etc. and I've exported to the FL .cmp. I then created a mat file for my textures, everything seems smoothly. I then used the UTF editor to place my ship in the game (replacing the Liberty Patriot). Ok, opened up Freelancer, started my game got my ship and...it's invisible! No textures. I can tell everything about the ship is good cuz the thrusters and weapons and all align right. So what the hell do I have to do to see my ship? Any help would be very very much appreciated.

Merc for hire...but only if you can afford it.

Try changing the LOD values for your ship. Change them to 0, 1000 or 0, 9999 that fixes some invisible ship problems. Also have you double checked the texture name in milkshape is the same as in the .mat file? Is the .tga definitely un compressed?

These are a few of the things that have tripped me up

Hey are all your faces outward? Try Reversing them.
