This is what I saw in the Shiparch.ini file. I am activing 2 more Hardpoints for my eagle. But I am confused about where to type next line.

I assume you have created HpWeapon07 and HpWeapon08?

There is no need to add new lines since the Eagle takes all 10 classes of guns to start with.

Just add HpWeapon07 and HpWeapon08 to the back of ALL 10 lines if you want them to take all 10 classes of guns.

I have created 2 more Hardpoint using UTF editor to Eagle. They are HpWeapon07, HpWeapon08 on the star wing. I think I have got the poisition right, but these hardpoints just don't show on my ship.

Do you mean you can't put a gun on them at all or they don't show up on your ship? If it is the later they are probably buried in the hull, floor or something else because you got the position wrong. If it is the former then please give more details on what you have done.

I am just confused about "Position",it seems hard to decide the weapon's Position on fuselage or swings.could you give me more information about
"Position",especially about Sabre,Titan,Eagle.
Is there a tool to show the value of Position?

About "Orientation",I want make a weapon that doesn't have a rotation limit,so
how should i set "Orientation"'s value.

It is very important to remember that different body parts (body, wing, fin etc) have their own centroids and their own coordinate frames originating from them. If you didn't notice this it is probably why you are confused. For example if you put a hardpoint under the fuselage tree but for some reason move it to the wing tree later on, you will notice that the gun no longer sits where it used to be even if you didn't change the position node. That is because the position node is now referenced to the wing's coordinate frame instead of the fuselage's.

As far as I know there isn't any programs that will tell you the positions on a ship, but it isn't that much effort to guess it anyway.

And orientation has nothing to do with rotation limit. The orientation only sets the default direction where the gun points and the facing of the mounting point.

I'm trying to put the HpWeapon07 in my anubis changing the place of the HpShield01 but even copying the position and orientation of the old shield, the weapon do not apear but still works. Every thing else that I changed, worked pretty well.
Please anyone, help me.

To all shipmodelmakers :

can anyone make a "hardpoint-placementcheck-ship"

i imagine it with a see-through-texture
the texture has x-y-z markings and lines to help placing the HPs at the correct position and correct angle

Pheonix, are you trying to convert your shield hardpoint to HpWeapon07? If that is what you are doing did you remember to add the missing Axis, Max and Min nodes? Also did you remember to move it to the Revolute branch?

vera lynn, your idea sounds good but exactly how will it work if your can't see THE ship you are trying to mount the hardpoint on?

I added (fixed) hardpoints for a shield, a thruster and a mine to an Armored Transport. I looked at the positions of existing hp's to decide the positions of these new hp's. They work fine at the equip dealer: I can mount a shield and a thruster. But in space the shield and thruster don't work (actually, the computer seems to think the ship has no thruster or shield).

Does anybody know how to fix this, or where to start searching for a solution?

Either no one knows, no one cares, or my question was extremely stupid, or off-topic...

Well never mind, I'll just rephrase my Q:

Did somebody ever put an npc-ship buyable, and succesfully added a shield and thruster hardpoint to it? With "succesful" I mean that the shield and thruster should actually work, not just hardpoints on which a shield and thruster can be mounted without the player being able to use them.
