I'm following Zen's tutorial (I'm adding a new ship) and everything's gone smoothly, but I've run into trouble. I'm on the 'Creating Resource Dll' tut, and it tells me to get the FL INI Referrer. I couldn't find it on this site - the only thing remotely similar was the FL INI Editor. Are they the same thing?

Yes, on the bottom of the 3rd page is Dixi's FLEd-ids program...
It is important to get this program...
Based on many contributors work, I am currently in the process of making a new tutorial on adding new ships and altering the DLL
The Tutorial will cover the following:
Adding NEW SHIPS without removing the original ship IDs
Adding NEW INFO Cards... so the descriptions match the mods.
How to use FLEd-ids
How to use Zen's infocard templates and infocard_new.dll template.
I have completed PART A and most of Part B. I will post it in 24-36 hrs.
Thanks.

New problem: I'm trying to add my new ship to Freeport 2, which is listed as Iw_01_02_Base in the Zen Docs, but that particular number doesn't exist in my goods.ini.

I really appreciate the help, Zen & others.

lolol im sry everyone i didnt see this post until just now, here is the flini referrer. zen said not to use it but im not sure if he said that because he couldnt find the referrer or because he thinks the other one is better. here it is:

www.eyers.net/bryan/flidref.zip

(for some reason the zip file is called "flidref" ...no idea why but i'd guess the origional programer had his reasons so i wont change the name, sry for the confusion)

im really sry i didnt post this earlier but i was taking a break from freelancer and just got back

ATTENTION RE: ZEN'S TUTORIAL...
Zen has asked me to carry on his Tutorial...
As this Thread has been confused by the prevoius loss of Zen's work, I have POSTED a NEW TUTORIAL called:
TUTORIAL: ADD NEW items (SHIPS) + INFOCARD DLL without removing the old.
This is a LENGTHY Tutorial part A and part B.
(Posted as a NEW Subject to Avoid LOTS of confusion) as Zen has asked me to finish the work and field the questions.)

It Details how to ADD a NEW SHIP to pittsburgh without having to remove any other ships and without Deleting another ship from the ID list. It explains how to add new IDs to the DLL file types and how to add new infocard descriptions without losing the original infocards of the template ship.

I would like to thank Pu_Raydo, Hans Olo, Dixi and Zen who have posted to the Lancers Reactor with much knowledge. Also to UNSETH who provided the basic formula for locating resources in the DLL and the Lancers Reactor... for sharing all this on the net.

Please post your REPLIES to the TUTORIAL at its new location... at

http://lancersreactor.com/t/forum/topic ... orum_ID=29

Thankyou.
