Freelancer Rebalance MOD v1.4b

Freelancer Rebalance MOD v1.4b

There is a problem with Mission 8 that causes the game to crash right after the order to engage is given.

Theres a fix/update coming out for it soon. Check out MD's posts on Freelancer 1.1b Feedback (or something similar).

Euwh... maybe it isn't really about the topic, please forgive me for that, but...

How to install Rebalance MOD 1.4b?
They say it's for FLMM 1.1 (wich I have) but I cannot get it in the mod-list...
Can someone please tell me what to do? Thanks.

(Yup I am a newb with FLMM and mods, sorry... )

1 Question how do I uninstall 1.4?

Post Sat Jun 14, 2003 3:15 am

Terran:
Did you click on "open file" when you d/led it? Did it end up in the flmm\mods directory? It might have unpacked to a temp directory and you might have to cut and paste it to the mods directory for it to show up.. Just a guess mind you..

Heltak:
Did you use FL mod manager and deactivate the mod?

To install copy the 'FLRebalance1.4' (or whatever) folder into you freelancer mod manager\mods\ directory. After that you will need to un-read only about 15 files scattedred about the mod or it wont install properly. Oncer you have done that you can activate with FLMM. I assume if you do it that what you can just deactivate with FLMM but i havnt tried it yet.

Thanks to both of u, I got it in the FLMM-list now and it's loading, but I got another slight problem...

I have finally removed the read-only from all those files that where obstructing the mod, but now, I get the following error-message:

"Acces to C:\Program Files\Freelancer\data\Universe\Systems\BW06\BW06.ini was denied."

I have checked the location, and I saw 3 icons, one of it being Bw06.ini.flmmbak (flmmbak? wtf is that?). It is not a read-only, so what should I do now?

I am so close to loading what I think is one of the best mods out atm. Please help me with this one!

An interesting encounter I just had with Rebalance 1.4: I was doing a run from New Berlin to New Tokyo (no cargo, just bored), and I decided I would stop at every base on the way. As I entered each one, it was neutral, and I would drop into the bar for a quiet drink (and a chat with the locals). When I left, the base was hostile, and I had some fun running away. Guess I may have had too much fun in the bar

Will see if 1.6 does the same (I don't know what I did to deserve it, but it was fun nonetheless).

Terran, i got the version 1.6 and it wont activate, FLMM keeps freezing everytime i activate the mod or when i try to restore backups, it never happened till i installed the new rebalance mod, version 1.4b activated fine

I think therefore i am....i think

There's a thread in this forum that specifically gives directions on how to fix the access_denied errors: install FLMM v1.2 beta from the thread in the General Editing forum

Guys, try this- Simple Tutorial for installing 1.6b, this worked OK for Me,
1. defrag your HDD
2. run scandisk
3. disable all screensavers and auto-dim
4. stop as much running in the background as you can.
5. running FLMM 1.1 with, Options, Make modified files read only etc..... unchecked.
6. back up all current mods, then deactivate and delete all current mods, i had rebal 1.4b & ghost docking ring running
7. install & activate rebal 1.6b, it takes some time, even on my P4 2.4Ghz with 512mb ram.
seems to work OK, not really gone far yet, and, if you can multi-boot and image your drive, that helps alot to.

does this help anyone?
