another weird MP prob

I have a weird Multiplayer Issue. I was gonna play on a server with a friend, but i got a invalid Username/Pass messege. (no password server) then I tried a different server worked fine. now he came to that server, we played for a long time 30 hours +. now I get the same error message on that server. (other servers work. weird... He can get in that server though...

What OS are you running?

Do you Login into your machine at boot up? Are you using the same Login name each time?

I am runnign Win 2000, and yes its the same user ID each time. Its almost like the machine think its a password server. Its really frustrating when you put many hours into a server and suddenly youll have to start over again
