Game messes up Windows on exit

The place to ask for technical help with running the demo or the full game...

I have found that alt-tabing out and then back in to the game and shutting down normally from there works.

ALT TAB did not work for me. Still garbled...unless I went back and forth over and over again. then it would clear up once in a great while.

Otherwise, the game is rock solid for me. Had to turn off sound accleration in DXDIAG and turn off 3d sound in options due to some sort of sound bug that made my audio go crazy.

Love the game. I give it a 90 out of 100.

Actually, I have this prob...it first happened when I started using it with XP (previously used it with 98SE). Can't be the video card cause the setting are exactly the same.

From what I can tell, it just scrambles the screen, but that's all...everything else is fine. I pressed the "window" key, then up, then the "enter" key twice. That puts my computer on stand by. When I take it out of stand by, the screen is fine again.

Also, the scrambled screen thing when you "Alt-tab"...press it a couple more times, that usually works for me.

I kicked in the Nvidia beta 43.00 drivers and put the AA TO 4x. Working like a charm.

Same problem here. GF ti 4200 with 41.09 dirctX9 an Win XP ((
Game runs fine but my computer is *...ed* up once I stop playing. Alt Tab didn't help me. (reset is the only option)

As this is a program by Microsoft this is a shame! (I know it's DA etc. - but as this is obviously an XP issue...was there no quality control?)

the point is, that the GF4 ti's and Nvidea detonators are the most used standard gaming equipment ("mainstream" around... these problemes should not be in a game that has taken so long!
I hope the problem is not that the game development dates back to the time where no one ever thougt of XP.... ; ))

The game is great though - as expected.

hm
quincunx AA seems to be part of the problem - after changing to 4x AA I can at least Alt Tab out without garbling.

I have the same problem with my GF4 440MX. The strangest thing is that it started a few days ago, and before that I didn't have any problems whatsoever.
