Game messes up Windows on exit

The game itself runs fine, but when I exit the game my desktop is all garbled. There's just a bunch of mutli-colored horizontal lines, though the keyboard still responds to commands (that's how I restart it). This is for the full version of the game, though the same thing happened with the demo. Here are my system specs.

Athlon 1.4 Mhz
GeForce 4 Ti 4200 w/ v41.09 Detonator drivers
Windows XP (with all updates)
Direct X 9

Nevermind. I was looking at some other threads and found out that the problem was with Quincunix AA, so I guess I'll just set it to 2x or 4x for now.

The problem went away after I switched from Quin to 2x, but has since come back. I'm certainly not going to play without AA, so I guess I'll just have to deal with it for now.

Damn... Same problem here ctrl+alt+delete doesn't even work... I have to reboot.

This may not fix the problem but it definately increases preformance... Roll back to the 40.72 WHQL Det. drivers.. I have found they preform better.

I am so glad I am not alone with this.

I am using det 41.09 and a GeForce 4 Ti4600. Started when I used AA.

Guess I'll try without.
Anyone have success without AA?

I am also having this problem. I find myself quitting to the main menu and then alt-tabbing out of the game, and ctrl-alt-del to end task on freelancer so i dont get the garbled screen.

Same thing happens to me when I use any level of AA. This was with both the 41.09s and the 43.00s. For now I just turned off AA, but I like the alt-tab out at the main menu, and close from there, idea so I might try that.

It gives me scrambled screen every once in a while too, but then you can just alt-tab back to the game and back out again until it is clear. If you exit out and it's scrambled then you can't do anything about it.

Try to run game in a different resolution than desktop.

Problem is that it shouldnt be doing this in the first place. I believe that enough of us are having this problem that it should be getting some attention from DA ( if they read this forum.. yoo hoo ) so that a fix may come out.

Will have to try that alt-tab thing here as well now..

Infinity is only moments away...
