Demo cant be installed

i just spent 10 hours downloading the demo on a 56k modem..

and when i tried to install it, it just opens up a msdos window, then the window immediately closes, and it doenst say anything at all, no message to why it wont install or anything...

When i press ctrl+alt+del the applications doenst show it running or anything.

the above is in win XP pro

when i go into win ME, i get the error message telling me that the file i downloaded is not a valid win32 application

here are my comp specs

p4 2.4
256 RDRAM
lots of HDD space
64mb geforce 2

Mostlikely you had a copy error while d/l the file

If you used a d/l manager, which one did you use?

I'd try d/l again

i used download accelerator...or i shouldnt even use a download manager?

I've got just the same problem. Install Directx 9 That should fix it. When you have Directx8 it just won't install.

i'm not sure thats the problem. people have run it on dx8.2, it needs dx9 for mp. but whatever solved your problem.

About DAP, dunno. i got mine without a d/l manager, but with a 56kbit i'd definetly use one. Try the dx thingy...might work for you too...BTW was that the first demo released on file planet/game spy, or the demo released on the offical FL site?
