May I ask if your copy of the game is legal?

Post Tue Feb 25, 2003 5:46 pm

ROFLMAO

You may 8)

I Doubt youd get an answer though 8)

Only on the net would a warez-boy d/l the game and seek help on an "almost" offical forum...

Unbelivable...they sem to be coming out of the wood work theese days.
We have recently re-launched a sepcialized web site (civil eng. stuff relating to our union). it's be up a day allready some dweeb is posting onthe forum asking for a free CAD program...Only to get a post from dweeb #2 telling him he has one and contact him...No details were left.

Maybe if they bought it i wouldn't be paying 3,500$ for a copy of Autocad Map 5

I've seen things you people wouldn't believe. Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion. I watched C-beams glitter in the darkness at Tan Hauser Gate. All those moments will be lost in time like tears in rain. Time to die.

my fault.
I mistaken full version with playable demo (friend lend me a recorded cd with demo and i thought it was game copied for original CD protection).
I posted my text few hours after I started to play demo (which crashes all the time) and this is my mistake.
I checked freelancer website and decided to buy full version (maybe it will help with my problem).
But still there are few days to game release so:
does anybody can help me with demo?

All software up-to-date to match all hardware?

Post Tue Feb 25, 2003 11:04 pm

yes I have directx 9 installed and I downloaded all the newest drivers

but I thing it might be my graphic card (kyro 2). I'm going to check gforce2 tomorrow.

maybe it will help.

For greater stability, download and install only OFFICIAL drivers for your card.

I know a lot of 1337 people like to use the latest and greatest beta drivers, but they're beta for a reason........

I think theres some problem with sb live cards and this game. Disable the card and see if the problem still surfaces. I haven't got a full solution yet. But I read in another post that this sorted exactly the problem you've got. I've got the same problem and I'm going to have a go at trying to solve it this evening. I'll let you know if I get anywhere.

These are a couple of other threads which describe exactly the same problem. In each case ( and this one and me) all the users have SB Live cards. Its about the only thing that is consistent ( apart from AMD chips);

Cybrey is right. It is the sound blaster card. I disabled it and i can play the game fine (without sound).

I've fixed my problem now .. so I'm well happy..

I did a couple of things .. updated my sound card drivers .. I was playing with the default XP ones. Downloaded the ones from creative labs.. think they were released sometime last March.

I'm also running the 40. detonator drivers from nvidia's site. (ie the latest official ones).

The only thing I did was turn off 3d sound in the sound options in freelancer. I don't know if this helped.. but I'm reluctant to alter anything now the game is working/stable and has sound..

Anyway off to play .. hope this helps..
