FL on Vista

Hello all. I've been searching and searching for an answer, but haven't been able to find it. Has anyone been able to play FL multiplayer on Vista? Just got a new PC after my old one died, and every time I try to connect to a MP server, it doesn't work. I get the list from the global server, find the server I played on before the PC died, but when I type in the password and hit enter, it says it cannot connect to the server.

I have the mod installed and activated in FLMM, added the ip and port to the shortcut, I have it set to run in Windows XP SP 2 compatability mode, I have it set to run as administrator, entered the program and port in windows firewall, disabled windows firewall, added the program and port in McAffee firewall... I don't know what else to try.

I've heard rumors that a few people have been running FL on Vista just fine, but I can't get any info on what they did to get it working. My other games work just fine... EVE, etc.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. I don't want to give up on this classic game.

Vista is supposed to be "backward compatable" (meaning you can play older games on it). But from information I've been reading lately, Vista is not living up to it's claim.
