i gotta make too manny upgrades to my computer for vista . i will wait and get a 4 gig machine and use my old computer to play freelancer and the new one will run my server.

I tried it on my lap top, and it loaded and movie ran fine, but there is a compatability issue with the graphics. I would rather run it on my XP machine at this time.

i can't get the game working online with vista either, anyone have the answer?. Its really anoying as it is the only pc i have and would love to play this game again. The game shows up all the servers but doesn't allow you to connect to them.

Please don't post unless you have actually tried running FL using MS VISTA I am thinking of purchasing a new computer, and would like to know if FL will work with VISTA. If you make it work, please post all of the details and which version of VISTA you are using.

yes, the game works fine on vista and i'm using ultimate x64. Only prob is that you can't connect to servers

It was noted on the news this morning, that Vista has a bug/problem with conecting on-line with 500 games and downloading some. It may take MS working a patch out to fix it.

I can play the game just fine on several servers using Vista.

The only problem I keep having running FL on Vista is that the framerate is somehow limited to the refreshrate of my screen, and no possible option, neither in Freelancer nor in the CCC of my Ati card, can remove this framecap. Unless there's a fix or workaround for this, I'm stuck with XP. Mouse lags, too, but my guess is the reason for that is the same as for the framecap issue.

Maybe one of the advanced options of the Ati Tray Tools for Vista can remove this cap, but ATT is not out as of now.

Running Vista Home Premium here, fl can see all the mp servers but it refuses to connect to any of them.

I don't blame you cheese on toast. I wouldn't purchase VISTA for another year except for the fact that I am planning on buying a laptop computer.
