Global Server connection problem.
I myself have this same problem and I don't know a solution to it, but from what I've seen on various forums and topics is that no one really has found a real solution to this problem. I'm going to adress the ideas that people have come up with to try and fix the problem and explain that they don't work everyones tried them and something new needs to be thought of.
1.) It's not the firewalls, everyone has granted acces/disabled firewalls/opened ports/contacted ISP ect ect ect. THAT'S NOT THE PROBLEM STOP TELLIN US IT IS, IT DOESN'T WORK.
2.) DirectX 9- Now I can't say for certain that this isn't the problem but I know it wasn't with me. Upon checking in "dxdiag" no problems where found anywhere with anything and yet the problem still exists.
3.) Graphics/Sound crads- I don't understand how this would be an issue at all seing as Multiplayer worked for these people and myself for days/months/or even years before the error occured, plus we can still play on single player with no problems.
4.) I havn't tried this yet and from what I've read it rarely if not hasn't worked for anyone. uninstalling Freelancer completely and then reinstalling it. First of all you lose your character to whatever server you where playing on if you do this. And second if it does fix the problem whats stopping it from happening again?!
5.) This is the last issue, using a seperate client such as Xfire, Gamespy, or All-seeing eye does absolutely nothing since it's just another way to launch the game, besides Gamespy/All-seeing eye don't support Freelancer so stop telling us to use them!
Well that's all. I don't have a solution to this problem but I am open to any suggestions other than any of the above since they just don't work. I'm not sure what the problem is but I doubt it is mod related as well since Everyone who has this problem says they're either running a mod or not.
