Game won''t start

I upgraded my video card and now FL won't start. I get the full-screen FL splash screen and then I get dumped back to my desktop. I used to have an FX5200 Ultra w/128mb. I installed a GeForce 6600 w/256mb. I reinstalled the drivers, reinstalled the game (several times) went through the Microsoft Knowledge Database. I have DirectX 9.0c, updated my Codecs and Windows Media Player (already had v10). I did a clean boot and tried all their suggestions. Turned off anti-aliasing, anisotropic filtering and vertical sync. I added my card to the config database file per other threads. The FL demo works fine, but the full program won't go to the menus. I get no error msgs. All of the tests in Dxdiag run fine. I get proper sound through the startup movies. I would prefer to keep my new video card, but if necessary I will put my old one back in. Thanks for any help you might be able to provide.

I wanted a reply, but not that kind . Seriously though, thanks for the reply. I'll be hoping that someone else has a solution.

There's been reports some people have had problems with GF 6600 and 6600GTs for some reason. Here's a thread.

The game now runs fine . I talked to the card manufacturer and they were no help. I e-mailed Microsoft and their first suggestion was to roll back the driver. I had tried earlier versions but that didn't help. Their next suggestion was to delete the saved games folder. I did that and the program now starts up and runs . Something so simple I hadn't even thought of it. Hope this helps someone else. Thanks all for your responses.

Regetfully, that is a common ocurance with free lancer. The Auto save cause problems with new games. Folks don't think to delete it when starting a new game.
