System Crash

my friend has Freelancer, when he plays it, it runs completely fine, but when he goes through a Jump Gate, or Jump Hole, then his PC restarts, i dont understand why.

Any comments, links to solutions or help will be appreciated.

Several people have had this problem. A sugjestion from Chips, a moderator her was to try this.

Jumpgate - people say that is caused by 3D sound, so try deactivating that. Otherwise have you played any mods? Quite often a crash at tradelane is due to NPC's appearing, which could be the reminents of a mods bad files perhaps
