Ugh, my 3rd party codec pack interfering with sound in the g

I found out why I can't hear the pilots talking most of the time and why some sounds are missing. It's due to the latest 3rd party K-Lite Mega Codec Pack. I uninstalled it and still the problem isn't fixed. I uninstalled Freelancer, uninstalled that Fraunhofer IIS MP3 Decoder as well, along with following all the instructions in Microsoft's Freelancer Sound FAQ and the Readme with Audio Troubleshooting. Still no result! I'm thinking of simply formatting my computer but I've got too many things to backup and not enough CDs to do it. Anyone else have 3rd party codecs and still have all the sounds working fine?

And yes, I've looked at the *FIX* freelancer problems topic and still no good. I decided to set Fraunhofer IIS MP3 Decoder to Priority 1 and disabled the LAME ACM thing. We'll see how it works...

Do you have the Fraunhofer IIs codec set to "Use this audio codec?

I don't have the latest pack, but I have an older version (within the last 6 months afaik) and FL works fine for me. Check that you don't have anything else running that uses your sound card like winamp or another media player

i got the same sound proplem. i recently formated my comp, because i had to many things installed on it, but freelancer was running fine and no prop with sound.

but now after i reinstalled windows i am have the same sound proplem as chuchux3 and it is running alot slower. got lags all the time.

i have tried everything that i can think of and tried to reinstall freelancer aswell, but with no result.

please help!

and btw i got another prop in freelancer. and only in freelancer, my computer goes into hibernation without me puching anything. i have ebem disabled the function hibernation, but it still does it and have tried many other games and it dosn't happen there!

it didn't happen before i reinstalled either?
