Freelancer not running

I try to run freelancer , it doesn't do anything for about ten seconds then pops with a message :

Cannot locate the CD-ROM

Please eject and re-insert the CD-ROM, select OK and restart application

[OK

I do have the cd-rom in , but it still comes up with this message, can anyone help me?

Maybe try cleaning the CD rom or the CD etc.

Don't run the game, just insert the CD and see if the autorun feature brings you to the 'install' screen. If it does, then reinstall the game (maybe uninstall followed by install) and see if this helps at all.

Screaming issue appears to be a registry problem. do you have 2 CD-ROM drives?
if you have 2 CD drives, and install FL from on of them, it will look at that drive again when you run it, not that other one. i had the some problem with my imager, i had to manually go through the registry and change the 'CDPath' keys from E: to F:. otherwise they wouldnt work.
