Unsatisfying Answers about Levelling

I have finished the SP storyline with an Anubis, and am now currently level 18. My Next Level Requirement says: Mission. Now I've done enough searching on these forums to know there are levelling up issues, but all I've found are a ton of questions, a few suggestions, and even fewer solid answers.

From what I've gathered so far, the 'Requirement: Mission' is a bug, and the next lvl requirement is really net worth? I have like 62 completed missions, and haven't seen any changes. Obviously I can level up - but how?

I'm running the original game, plus Microsoft's patch. No mods. My computer is more than capable of running the game - it looks great.

The only substantial suggestion I've been able to find is:

- Trade commodities, make a lot of money, and you'll soon level.

Am I anywhere near figuring out this issue, or should I call Microsoft tech. supp.?

Your not supposed to run it with the microsoft patch - like most levelling up threads say, that patch is for servers only really.....so you best off reinstalling FL and carrying on (don't uninstall FL first - cause that will cause you to lose your save games!).

The answer is in nearly everythread on the topic - you have just overlooked it

So reinstalling FL, and leaving the patch alone, and then reverting to a patched savegame will work? Thanks.

To be honest - no idea!! I never got any problems with the game, so i can only offer up what i understand/have heard.

Well I reinstalled FL, and didn't reinstall the patch. Loaded a pre-patch savegame, and saw no change, so went back to my last saved Mission (13: Dock w/the Osiris), and re-beat the game.

After wading through the cutscenes and ending up on New Manhatten, success! The next level requirement shows the correct amount, instead of just "Mission."

But the problem's not over. I can't save the game and come back to it later - if I do that, it reverts back to the former problem of just saying "Mission" for my next lvl req.

So, I've learned so far that the bug exists on my game, even without the patch present; savegames, both patch or pre-patch don't work; and I still haven't fixed it yet

You obviously don't understand the problem. My game has a bug. The "Find a Job" doesn't even appear, and I've TRIED doing jobs - many, many jobs. I never level up, despite having like $5,600,000 net worth at one time. It's a common bug with no official fix, and its the current problem I'm working on.

Have you deleted all but the save games of mission 13? Try that and see....
