Freelancer display problem

Specifically, I get no textures at all. They are still there in the main menu, as well as the Freeport 7 blowing up part, but as soon as the Liberty cutscene loads, all the textures are gone. So it looks like a big brown blur.

I've installed and played the game before without problems, but I don't know what happened this time. I've reinstalled twice already.

Help appreciated.

no help?

What settings do you have? 68mb? 800x600? 24bit? If settings are low, iisplay may not be good. there are several things in your graphic you can check.

Can you step it up to 32bit? There should be some texture at 16 bit.

mongoose There are some physical problems as well as software that can cause that. My old computer, the card would over heat after 3 hours play and do a restart. The fan wasn't cooling it enough. Is your problem only happening when you play freelancer or does it happen playing other games.

use microsoft windows update to get new nvidia drivers.

i tried updating by just getting them from nvidia page, and it didnt fix anything. but when i got them from ms, it made it stop freezing after the intro movies.

I wouldn't get ANY driver updates from Windows Update. THey NEVER have the most current stuff there and it usually winds up causing problems. If you do a CLEAN install of your drivers, as in uninstalling, deleting the directory they go to, rebooting and double-clicking on the downloaded dirver file, it should work. If not, try progressively older versions until you find a set that works.
