XML??? Error plz help

i've just reintsalled freelancer, to play multiplayer, but when i click 'multiplayer' on the main menu, the dialog box that appears has a lot of weird text at the beggining and end of the actuall 'text' that you'd normally see

the text also appears in many other ingame areas that have basic 'text' info

the first part is always as follows:

<?XML version="1.0" encoding = ETC.

is there something wrong with my xml version? any ideas why i'm getting this crap? never happened before

I've never heard of this before, I would think it prob is something up with your XML, ask one of the super tech guys here.

Some (see a number of

) Microsoft products need an "XML Parser" to work properly. You may need to install such a parser as it sounds as if FL is not set up to use XML properly. Try reinstalling FL to see if it installs an XML Parser, or try www.microsoft.com and download one. If you have a copy of "Halo", the parser is installed with it, so it might be worth a try.

I have encountered this problem recently. I think it could be caused by my installation of MS .Net frame work which comes with it's own XML parser.
