1) Is there a pilot view in freelancer? How do I get into it

what r u meaning like first person view of the cockpit or what

if you ever see A player named Cantana_Focks it's probably me

If a first-person view is what you mean, try:
'CTRL-V'

First person view is standardly bound to this key combination.
'V' is for rear view (looking behind you, seeing the pilot)

You can check all key's under F1 => options => controls
