Joystick, Don''t shoot me!

I know nobody on this forum likes the idea of a joystick in this game but I was wondering how to get one to work, even if it sucks I would just like to give it a try anyway.

Welcome.

It won't work. Though I've seen posts about gamepads and some get them to work. Not sure though.
It's not that we don't like it, it's the threads about it we don't like. FL has no joystick support and thats a period. And to prevent everyone from asking this the mods have banned joystick discusions.

Edit: Damn spelling.

It's the sand in the clock wich stops the time... or was it... D'oh, I need to study harder on this time control thing.

It does suck. I really wanted to use my joystick, but because the guns aren't fixed like they are in StarLancer and other sim games it feels strange. It's also a lot easier with the mouse. It would be cool with 2 joysticks, one for aiming guns and one for cotroling movement.

You could use a program like Joy2Key or Joy2Mouse to remap your joystick buttons to keyboard keys.

I can confirm that this worked for me in the past. However, it didn't work consistently the last time I tried. I think this may have to do with newer versions of DirectInput.... dunno.

Good luck!
