New drive problems

The place to ask for technical help with running the demo or the full game...

New drive problems

Recently I purchased a new hard-drive. I installed my Window$ 2K disk all drivers and all updates and patches (as on my old drive) Basically I wanted everything that was on the old drive minus some of the detritus that you pick up after 4 years using the same drive and o.s.

I installed FL and put the patches for it and all the mod files with the mod manager. Again exactly as on the old drive.

Now when I run the game I get as far as the screen that allows you to change the settings and chose to load a save file or create a new game. I wanted to create a new game, and then look at loading in my old saves later. When I chose to start a new game It crashes out to the desk top with out any warnings.

I have tried it with the mods removed and no mod manager just the M$ patch and the game with no difference.

I have removed the game completely and all the registry paths but still i get the same.

Yet the old drive works fine.

I remind you that the only spec change is the drive, all other software works fine..

Any Ideas

unless you are running a server loose the patch now it wont be the cause of your current probs but it can really screw things up later
as to your problem i assume youve tried a reinstall of fl and have the directx 9b installed ,i can only assume you have something missing ie the above or drivers in your new install on the new hd ;assuming there are no other symptoms
i also assume the cables etc are properly seated

Thanks a lot Steel seems although my Direrct X was up to date it had not installed properly. A quick trip to micro$oft and it was sorted.

Thanks again for your input.
