The place to ask for technical help with running the demo or the full game...

The single most heinous Tech issue I have. Freelancer Crash

Allrighty, major problem here.

I played freelancer a whole lot. Recently, I've begun playing online (I know... what took me so long?) and I've even messed in SP with some mods. (God bless FLMM!)

I was looking at the Jolt webpage and thought 'hey, this is a nice place to play.'

So I added my -s IP address line to the shortcut, and was about to start when a (now stupid-seeming0 thought hit me. Why not install the patch? I forgot the little sign that says 'only if you can't get a MP id...

After the patch, freelancer only got past the intro movies, and the splash screen crashed to the desktop.

Uninstall/reinstalls don't work. I followed about every (insert random expletive) tech issue on MS's site for it. Still no go. I had the same problem once before, even a MS support ticket to show for it. Last time it was fixed when another problem caused windows to need a re-install.. I'm hoping to not need that again..

Any help is nice. Anyone else ever have this problem? Someone help me! There is NO WAY for me to play FL now! AGH! MY DRUG IS GONE.. I mean... yeah.. you know...

To call me hard-core is to assume I play games well. I don't play them well, just too much.

have you tried to uninstal freelancer it self,and/or delete all files related to it, and then instal it from the begining.

remove the program from your hard disk (delete the folder)
remove your saved games (copy them to another folder if your really want to keep them)

re-install Directx 9.0b

re- install freelancer

and you should be ok

I know you have to remove the refrigerator door when placing it at the curb , but then the neighbours kid would get away for sure , damn moral dillema's
