jump holes! HELP

ok whenever i go to a jump hole and try to dock with it, nothing happens. i am playin online, windows XP home, 56k modem, 512 mb ram, 100 gb hard drive, pentium 4 2.0 gHz. i dont know if this is a technical problem or am i doing the right thing to go thru a jump hole? i select it, and press f3 to dock... right? also, sometimes it says "dock in use" and flies me automatically through the jump hole to the other side at which point i blow up and die. no enemies for MILES.
HELP!

Are you really close to the jumphole when you dock? Or do you hit dock 1K+ away from it? Maybe you're hitting F3 too close to the jump hole. Sometimes happens to me when I dock with stations.

56k modem...

could be a lag problem...whats the ping times on the server you use?

Just my $0.02, but it could just be the cardamine talking.
