Loss of FPS and game freezing on landing scenes/stations

for some reason when on a landing screen my FPS slow down and the game 8 out of 10 times freezes, I have the detail level turned way down yet the problem still pesists, I'm using a radeon 8900 in a dell comp with a pentium 4. anyone have any recomendations?

I had a probelm wiht my game freezing when landing, or going through a jumpgate. I found if you wait about 10 seconds maybe more, the game picks up and starts working again.

Although i now have a problem wiht my comp crashing and a load of stripes appearing on my screen, i tihnk thats just my comp though.

thanks, ill try that sometime, see if your right about it (we may have a different problem)
