game crahes back 2 desktop everywhere

hi all,
my problem is that im unable 2 play freelancer because of its crashing back 2 desktop problem.it 1st crashes at the very beggining of a new game (just after the 2 movies),after lowering the options a bit it worked but......,at the bar it crashed 2 desktop.i fiddled about the options once more and it works.next thing i know it crashes in the technical bay(the one where u get the ship from,im not sure of the name).this was the furthest points i saw in the game.i tried microsofts rather impressive solutions includin a clean install on a clean boot ,result =nothing.when i 1st got it i had a sound ,a text(font) and a video problem .i managed 2 solve the sound one but the rest are really difficult.the font problem is also annoying,the text seems 2 be in chinese (not sure ,but im sure i have the english version) all the small tooltips are english but the main objectives are in "chinese".when i try 2 save it types my letter in chinese but when i click save it turns 2 english,i would really like a solution for this.

i have a p4, 2.4ghz ,64mb GeForce4 440MX, 256ddram ,80gb hdd.so is there any way i can play this without future crashes.plz plz help me id hate 2 throw this game into the trash compactor .

What Direct X you have? FL needs at least V9.0

i guess i forgot 2 mention that,i have durectx 9.0 (i thnk its 9.0a) and all other minimum and medium requirments have been met .can u help me on how 2 fix this problem?

edit:here is a list of things i already tried,
1\clean boot then run game
2\clean boot and installed the game,then ran it
3\dloaded some nvidea new software from thier site
4\lowered grfx acceleration 2 every notch available
5\changed fonts with the ones on the cd
6\lowered grfx options inside game 2 a minimum(seems 2 make it crash faster!!?)
7\REINSTALLED WINDOWS and all the stuff needed
8\disabled agp acceleration from dxdiag menu (recommended by microsoft)
9\bought a gun
10\im ready 2 shoot my self

so plz if u know any solution 2 one of the problems ,the crashing 2 desktop or chineese font problem plz tell me.maybe those problems are connected,i have taken some screenshots of the chinese text but i dont know how 2 post em here,so plz advise me on that also

oh,i forgot one more thing,i have a 56kbs and "dloading my solutions "is really annoying so plz tell me if there is any solution which doesnt invlove dloads 1st,then the dloading ones.i have started dloading directx9.0b (35mbs) i think it will take about 2 or 3 days 2 complete it so keep ur suggestions comming

Try turning down the hardware acceleration a notch or two.

if u read the things i done u will see
4\lowered grfx acceleration 2 every notch available
i tried one notch=nothing .2 notches =same problem .3 notches =still nothing
all the way =no difference.i tried microsofts support b4 coming here and none of thier solutions worked (except for the sound problem!).i have tried this game on another pc of a friend and it worked fine but with the same font problem im having on my pc (wierd letters similar 2 chinese appear instead of english in mission objectives,athough the rest is english)
the stats of my friends pc is:
cpu=1.7ghz cache 128 (i have 2.4ghz cache 512)
m.b=asus x series,sis chipset with built in vga+ sound+lan (acorb ,via chipset +sound )
vga card=sis 650 (built in!!!) (i have geforce 4 MX440 64mbs)
ram=ddram 256 (same as mine)
H.D.=80gbs (same as mine)
directx=9 (same as mine)
OS=windows ME (same as mine)

so whats the problem?.should i burn the damn pc

.plz help me any1 b4 i go mad

i found what was the problem after digging around here and there

,it seems the text problem was causing this,those chinese letters i was wining about were actually raw code that needs any xml software 2 work.but here where it gets complicated,i installed mxml 3 from the cd and now it crashes instead of displaying text,i tried mxml 4 and same problem.so i tried 2 uninstall freelancer and reinstall it again,the crashing stopped but the raw code appeared instead!!!! :0 .so what do i do now,is there any site i can dload some proper xml runtime software
