HELP!

Just bought the game after a few friends said I just had to have it.

Using windows 2000, AMD 1.4ghz chip and Geforce3. I start up FreeLancer, and just after the MS Gaming Studios logo finishing playing out the screen goes purple briefly and Freelancer just closes itself. I've tried restarting and the 1.1 patch. Any help?

just a hunch but i think it may be your Win2k

*its been said many times in TLR* The M$ FL v1.1 patch is for the server! Do not install it for the client (game) side. Unpredictable results occur!

I have not tried FL on Win2k but I know FL server doesn't work unless you have the right service pack. I have heard SP4 works. How this may interfere with the FL game itself I don't know. Schutzstaffel, could you elaborate? Maybe you don't have permissions. Are you running logged in as an administrator?

Many problems have been solved with the latest and error-free installation of DirectX, version 9.0b (I think).

I've been running FL on Win2k for 6 months without any problems , just make sure you have the latest Service Pack for Win2k , the latest version of DirectX an the latest drivers for your Graphics card, sound card and MoBo
