it wont start...my pc crashes when...

hi
i realy need help with this...i just bought freelancer, and i would die to play it...but the problem is, every time I start it, just after the cinematic finishes(the movie) the screen stays black...and i have to restart my pc, i have tryd to reinstall...but it stays the same...i dont get any error mesages, or somthing like that...the screen just stayes black...
if anyone could help me, pls do, i woudl realy apriciate it

do you have all the specks needed to run the game.

do you have directx 9 installed (i acually don't but it still works i have directx 8.1)

is your graphics card compatable with the game and/or directx 9

thats all i can remeber that might be wrong

do you mean it stays black and your computer freezes,,? i had the same problem on one of these. it was running winxp pro, plus sp1, turned out that sp1 conflicted with the game,,. damn ms conflicts
