Server Connection Hang

This has happened alot lately, and I cannot join any servers. When I click Join, all it does is the mouse freezes up and then the window comes up saying its taking longer than expected. I would guess that the server went down, but I cant get into any servers. Anyone know how to solve this? Thanks for your help!

No, I am on cable, and I know how to check it. The internet will work fine, and I check IPCONFIG, its all good. I dont know whats up. Thats why I think its the game or server end. But all servers shouldnt be down at one time. Thanks for the help anyways

This has happened to me quite a lot, I can usually join a server ok, and have tried to build up my character in a couple of servers.

However, I'm not usually on very long before the connection to the server is lost.

Thinking it was my connection, I played Devastation multiplayer for a good few hours with no problems whatsoever, whereas on Freelancer I'm losing my connection after about 20-30 minutes, sometimes less.
