Screen goes black at startup?

Hi, I have previously installed and played FL without any problems.

Recently I reinstalled the game and now after hitting the yes button in the 'licence agreement' the screen goes black and the computer freezes : (

I have direct x 9a , all the most up to date drivers for sound and vid.
I have plenty of other games that run fine.

Any ideas?

P3 800, 384 ram GEforce440mx, onboard ac97 sound etc etc

So I'm evil.....is that a BAD thing?
