Crashing to desktop after connecting to server.

The place to ask for technical help with running the demo or the full game...

Crashing to desktop after connecting to server.

I can start freelancer, single player works fine.

In multiplayer, I can see the server list, even select one, but as soon as I try to connect, it crashes to the desktop.

Any ideas?

Thanks,

James

You running any mods, cause that may be the problem if you are. Or, you could try to choose a different server. Or, you could take out all of your freelancer saved games and try that. Or, you could reinstall Freelancer. Heh, if none of these work, I have no idea.

I don't have a signature. Seriously.

No, this is off of a clean install. Clean OS install as well.

Also, tried multiple servers.

I'm having the same problem. It has worked fine until a few days ago. Clean OS and FL install and it still crashes when I try to connect to any server.

ok this list is growing, there's obviously a software issue here, there's no possible way we have the same drivers and hardware.

or is there.

everyone list they're system specs.

AMD 1.2ghz thunderbird
FIC motherboard
Geforce 4400TI
Soundblaster Live!
1 gig ram

All seeing eye thing doesnt work all that well with freelancer. but the servers in the listing DO work! odd isnt it?

Thanks for the all seeing eye tip. wonder why it matters if it's installed or not

uh double post but this contains info that is worth the bump...

if you would like to play on a server thats not on the list in the eye, just press Insert and enter the details. I tried that and after 6 tries it worked =)

I have just reinstalled from winblowz Xp -->2000. Same problem for me. Has anyone found a better fix yet?

uninstall game n mod n mod manager then when thats all done go in n uninstall/delete all folders there r left even saved games then reinstall if that does not work then you have something in your registry you will have to track down that can be a pain to do but if that does not work then post back ill track down hidden files if you cant find to uninstalll 100% hope this helps

n dont install any thing go 1 thing at a time might be one of the updates is corrupt to so install then try if works then install next thing n try n so forth

mess with the best die like the rest or be terminated from the shadows

Yeah, I get that too. It worked fine a coupla months ago, and then I decided to brush it off and it suddenly doesn't want to work in multiplayer. I can get into a server once, but as soon as I go to a shipyard, or try to take off, it crashes to desktop.
