Server Connection Problems

I have been unable to connect to any of the multiplayer servers for several days now. I was online monday with no problems. But for the past couple of days I can connect to the global server but no game servers. All I get is the operation is taking longer than normal message then the this server is offline messsage my internet connection checks out okay I can see other player numbers and ping times. Running Win XP Pro, 2200 XP, 516ram, Norton Firewall, normal internet connects ok. Any ideas.

Watch your firewall protection level... If it's too high, it cuts off your connection.
If you're not using a firewall, maybe it's time to reinstall...

I haven't changed the firewall level I have even turned off the firewall. I have re-installed freelancer after backing up account details I can connect to other online game servers but I still cannot connect with any freelancer servers at all.
