My Level won''t go past 20 ...help..

I've finished the single player missions, and done lots of trading. I now have $2 million, but my level just wont go up. It says next level 'mission', but I've done over seventy missions, and it hasn't gone up in the last 30 or so. A friend of mine has done about same number of missions and he is level 29 ! Has something gone wrong with the game ?
Any ideas gratefully received.

Try uninstalling, then installing the game again. Run your game without the patch and look at your mission log. Worked for me.

Thanks, but I solved the problem myself. Basically I put the patch on and took it off (long story). Problem is my game wouldn't advance when using original version.
Put the patch back on.....bingo progressived from level 20 to 38 with next kill.
