Graphics Problem with my Radeon

Everytime I play freelancer, whether it be single player, multiplayer, or running my own server and playing it I get this odd problem. When I fly around everything seems to jitter like there is a framereate problem. I have fraps running and I'm getting a solid 70+ fps. This makes it hard to target enemies and is just all around not visually pleasing. My specs:

P4 2.4 ghz
512 RDRam
ATI Radeon 9700 128mb
Windows XP
Latest Direct X and Radeon Drivers

I have tried many things but they do not change it at all. I play Battlefield 1942 with full detail and no problems. I truly have no idea what could be causing this problem. I defraged my hard drive last night too so that couldnt be the problem. If anyone could help or point me in the way of help please do, thanks.

You could try just this stab into the dark here take your preformance level on your card down one notch. Doesn't effect the graphics at all they will still look sharp and nice.

Exact same problem here, but with a Ti 4200 running on P4-2.4GHz, 512 DDR333, plenty of HD, etc. FPS never drops below 50, but I get nausiating "lurchiness" when moving forward and turning, especially when a planet, etc is in view. Tried all the usual update/reinstall/nvidia/directx/blahblahblah, but no change. Seems to happen at any resolution or performance level. I even tried disabling MIDI as another post suggested, but no luck.

Any help would be appreciated, and please forgive me if there are already 50 threads on this; I've looked but must have missed them.

Thanks!

I also meant to add that I tried changing in-game refresh rates (in Windows Gforce settings and with Refreshlock) but that didn't help either.

This is sad. I'm running on a 1.4ghz PC with a Radeon 9000 PRO 128. I have everything in the graphics at the max, and I'm not getting any form of lag or anything minus when the PC hasn't been rebooted for a while. Although right now I couldn't say, since I've been hunting a virus that my sister got me from downloading/installing Kazaa instead of KLite
