NEW sound problem (not that static!!!)

Okay- ive got some freaky sound issue

Heres what happens- im in a fight of some kind and my computer locks up and starts emitting a high-pitched noise. after a minute or so, it unlocks, but the noise remains. i quit FL, and the noise is still there!!! only a reboot gets rid of the noise. its happened 6 times (im counting)!!!

here's my hardware config:

Mobo- Epox 8rda+ /w Nforce2 Chipset
Processor- Amd Athlo XP 1800+ overclocked to 2.09GhZ
System Memory- 512MB DDR memory
Video Card- Nvidia Quadro4 750 XGL /w 128MB memory (yes, thats a workstation video card)
Sound card-Turtle Beach Santa Cruz
OS-Windows 2000 Professional SP3
HD controller: Adaptec 2940U/UW SCSI adapter

Thats a large overclock! The chip usually runs at 1533mhz! Overclocking can have strange effects, you could try putting it back.

By the way, How many fans do you have to have to get it stable at that speed?

You call that extreme overclock?
Bah, that is light, it is a breeze normal for a CPU like that IF it carries the right code.
