Have you tried the obvious?
Uninstall, &rename the program files folder for FL then Reinstall.

If so also boot into a selective startup
Start\Run MSCONFIG
Pick Selective startup and unselect the "Load Startup Items"
reboot and then try FL

Clean out your windows temp folder.
Start\run %TEMP%

Could also check your Direct X out
Start\run DXDIAG
Run some of the Tests on the sound, graphics etc..

Hope those help

Ok guys

I'm half way there now, the game runs randomly, sometimes i can play it for 5 mins, or sometimes it runs for a couple of hours before it crashes.

1 of my problems must have been the graphics card drivers...
i downgraded to the
Nvida 30.82 driver
....Also tried 41.09 but it chrashed my system a lot to

Why if the game is sponsered by Nvida, does it not run with their new drivers?

Also the most stable driver i have used so far is the 'Nvida 30.82 driver', but anytime i load up the game it says that it my cause a critical failure in the system.... God the rest of them are worse!!!

Hi there,

Exactly the same problem with me.
Same os and SP.
Live! drive sound.
Had 512 Mb of unbranded, now have another 512 of Twinmos
XP2600+
Ti4200
Albatron Kx400 8xv pro

the one thing that has improved this an awful lot for me, and trust me i've tried pretty much everything, is upping the voltage to the ram from 2.5, to 2.7. However, you try this at your own risk.

My next thing is to try it with just the twinmos ram.

Have you tried the 44.03 detonator drivers. They seem pretty good to. Slower, but improved gfx.

I too would consider faulty RAM as the source of your problem. Random crashes often indicate that the RAM doesn't keep data correctly. This may sometimes only happen with certain programs that use a lot of memory. Other applications aren't affected for they don't address the faulty memory space. You should perhaps test the RAM using a program like CTRAMTEST from the german computer magazine C'T. Personaly i had quite some defect noname RAM-modules, so I guess this is not an uncommon problem. Often people regocnize it as a software problem and people often believe their system is somewhat unstable.

I just wanted to add, that it would be very useful if you post up the things you try, the outcomes, and the solution if you get one. Even if the outcome is negative, it may save someone else the trouble.

Other things i've tried:

CAS latency (2.0) Amazed it worked at all actually. But didn't fix it.
AGP Fast writes, on and off.
AGP Aperture 32, 64, 128, 256. No change.
Just about every Nvidia driver in the 43 & 44 range inc all WHQL drivers.
Reinstalling XP pro, and SP1
Disabling SB Live! and reverting to on-board AC97.

All without success.

You might also want to try motherboard monitor to see if your voltages and temperature is ok.

One other symptom that i'm experiencing is a random loss of my adsl connection. Drops out for 10 seconds at a time. Every 5-30 mins or so. Mentioning it here in case anyone else has a similar combination.
