Help - Can''t reinstall FL

I have been forced to remove FL after trying to run the Rebalance 6b3 Mod. Now I can not reinstall FL at all. It sits on 1% for a while and then takes off until 99% where it then pops up with a error message stating that it can not read from Cab2. I am running an image of my original CD via DaemonTools, emulating the Safedisc protection. This was how I got the game to install in the first place.

Any ideas on what to do next? Nog - any thoughts?

I suppose the obvious next step is to try installing from your original CD!

Dosn't work I'm afraid. The can't read error comes up at about 7% most times. The virtual CD seems to be the only way to get the copy protection to but out.

1 if you did buy FL and have CDrom giving reading problems then buy a new CDrom
2 if you didnt buy FL then tough and go buy it

Thanks for the vote of confidence!

For your information, I am onto my SECOND cd obtained from EB - first one replaced because it wouldn't read...same basic problem as is now occurring with the second.

So, why should I have to keep buying new copies everytime the previously bought one decides to crap itself - at $90.00 a pop.

Then dont think its the CD, think its the CD ROM aka CD drive not reading the copy protection, other games have that problem with older CD drives.

Also if its a combi CD/DVD then they are worst for this, so borrow a CD drive and test it.

Thanks, but I have 4 CD drives and it doesn't help changing drives, except for the very old drive seems more unreliable. Looks like FL may be a game of the past for me

Well, if at first you don't succeed, try, try, try, try, try, try, try again. I've managed to reinstall after about 20 attempts.
