Connecting to global server

Do any of you have ANY ideas to why I can't find any internet servers (and yes I have internet). It just keeps "connecting to global server". It worked perfectly before my big brother messed my PC up.

Everything can fly... with enough dynamit strapped around it.

I've double checked all the computers in the network... and none of them have a firewall as far as I can tell.

But something tells me I have it anyways, so how do YOU see if you have a firewall?

Sometimes the directplay files corrupt. Reinstalling DirectX9 should fix it.

But my singleplayer version works perfectly... Well I'll try anyway. I'm pretty desperate.

I'm afraid I don't have a solution even though I made it work. All I did was to instead of having the internet connection through our "server" (an old computer, with two network cards) I made the internet connection go through our router/hub. It worked, I'm not sure why.

wha?

I got the same problem, and it sucks because it used to work just fine. The DirectIP program doesn't circumvent this.

I was hoping to find some new servers to start over on but I can't get a list of a single one no matter what. If ANYONE can figure this out, I'd be grateful.

I am behind a firewall but like I said, it worked ever since I got the game. And suddenly one day it stopped. Nothing had changed over here on my side, I tried a reinstall of the game, reinstall of DX9, and ANOTHER reinstall of DX9 to no avail.
