FL Doesn''t recognise GFX card Ti4200

The place to ask for technical help with running the demo or the full game...

Sorry,

I also went back 2 versions of SB Live! drivers to the last set the weren't called "uni" drivers. got them from the states, but i'm at work, so i can't give you the V number.

Turning the CAS from 2.5 to 2.0 will actually make the RAM faster yet your computer more unstable if it doesn't have proper cooling. Looks like your lucky.

Thanks very much for your posting, but no i'm not. It's still doing it. AAAAaaargh.

I NOW think it's back to the graphics card, as i've also had a freeze on the mobo AC97. I'm trying it again now, but i'm not hopeful.

This is sooooo frustrating. Really. My gear is pretty good spec stuff. All good manufacturers: Albatron, Creative, AMD, PNY.

I s'pose it could be the original issue regarding FL not recognising the Ti4200. But i can't see any way around that.

Has ANYONE else got any ideas?

Fellows I have a problem which I cannot solve. My monitor goes on stand by while I'm playing FL. I have GeForce Ti 4200 card and according to me that's the problem. My friend said that it has something in common with the refresh rate but i have no idea anymore... HELP ME

@ Pri$e yes lower your refresh rate, had the exact same problem when running my Monitor at 1152@864 at 100hz lowered it to 85 still had problems so now on 75 and no lock ups.

So either your Monitor or Video card doesn't like the refresh rate you are using.

Pri$se,

Any chance you could start your own thread mate. I appreciate that your gfx card is the same, but your problem is wholly different. This mean your clogging up a thread that others have started, with your issues.

However, if the original thread problem turns out to be a refresh-rate issue. I'll retract the lot and give you all big kisses!! LOL

Cheers

hey seanus, where do you go to edit the CAS? i can't find it in the BIOS. I do think my problem has moved from a video card error to a sound error. whenever my comp locks up now, it has the sounds playing in the backround.

Seanus, You're using Gainward right? im using MSI and no problems excepti that dialog box saying Your GFX is unrecognized .. but never ive got FL Crashed. ive used 30.00, 40.72, 43.45 and all works fine.. sorry can't help you much.. about those who overclock CAS... what RAM are you using? what do you mean cooling? cooling RAM? putting fan on RAMs? LOL

argh i'm never gonna get paid, Goodbye a million credits

I have a GForce4 ti 4200 8x agp 128 meg card on an msi kt4ultra with 1 gig of 400mghz ddr, and an amdxp 2100+. Running the latest det drivers.

I get the "Not supported" error, but after that, everything runs fine.

To all of you that have posted replies.. You have my gratitude. I have now referred my problem back to the vendor. It is a new machine after all (and German built). My latest thoughts are indeed RAM-based (as a few of you have guessed). I think this is worth pursuing, as reading the multiple threads both here and the other (not to be mentioned) forum. It seems that FL freezing is a common fault.

Anyway, by upping the voltage to my memory from 2.5 to 2.8, in steps of .1v, i have graduallly reduced freezing to once every few hours. however, like the BIOS, don;t try this unless you know what you're doing.

I have just purchased half a gig of twinmos ram which i intend to swap for my ****e stuff. I'll post the result soon.

Nice work people. And don;'t forget to shoot the pigeons.
