Graphics problem

My 3DFX Voodoo 4500 video card does not show text on the screens, either during the game or on the main menu. I can play the game OK, but have to guess at the contents of the text boxes. (ie save/load game page and inventory, etc). I think I have to get a new video card, but the Freelancer readme.txt lists loads that have problems with the game. Before I go and spend my hard-earned cash, can anybody give me details of a video card that does work with Freelancer?

my MSI Starfoce G4 Ti4200 runs fine on my Soltek MOBO 256 RAM 1.2GHz Celeron ...im using "the old" original driver from package Detonator 30.00 and running winxp.

argh.. im never gonna get paid.. gooby a million credits..

I got same graphics problem , i have Rage Pro Fury/Xpert 200 with ATI dirver and i get the same writing bug

I gave up trying to get it to work and bought a Sapphire Atlantis Pro 9500 graphics card. With a bit of help from a chap at Microsoft support, it now works beautifully. Now I can see what i'm doing!
